Senior Interface Designer

Are you the kind of designer that obsesses over shopping carts, is up–to–date in the newest drag–and–drop AJAXy goodness, and lives for the details?

Ai is looking for a Senior Interface Designer to work closely with our team of Visual Designers, Information Architects, and Experience experts to craft visually compelling and informationally rich online experiences for ecommerce, marketing, and content–driven websites.

This person will have a passion for nerdy things like ecommerce conversion funnels, social networking web applications, and dynamic form fields with responsive user feedback systems. This position is UI design intensive -- if you’ve done large back–end interfaces for online trading platforms, CMS interfaces, or process–management software, then we really should talk.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Fully understand and bring value to project objectives and requirements
  • Apply best practices in design and usability during creative development and production
  • Produce multiple, original concepts for websites, web–based applications or online marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with the project team to think through every angle and detail of the design and user experience
  • Interact directly with clients
  • Mentor junior designers
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3–5 years professional experience, working in an agency setting and within a team
  • Strong conceptual skills
  • Expert in the full Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong typographical, and motion graphic and interaction design skills
  • Good understanding of site structure, naming conventions and be able to work from wire–frames
  • Customer–focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An in–depth understanding of HTML/ dHTML and the capabilities of Web browsers

This is a full–time, on–site position at an award–winning company with a passion for smart design and fulfilling user experiences. Ai is located in the Flatiron district of Manhattan, in a bright, cheerful office complete with game room and dog.

This is a full–time, in–house position; applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to New York City area. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
