Loren Davie

Loren has been building web apps since the mid-90's. He brings extensive experience from the web, software and entertainment industries. As a system architect and senior engineer, he's driven projects such as:

• A large-scale, XML-oriented publishing platform for an established New York typesetting company.
• A user security system for a risk management / trading platform being developed by a Silicon Valley start-up.
• A promotional marketing system for an online fashion accessories retailer.

Loren has served in a senior technical role in companies in New York, Palo Alto, Montreal and Toronto. He was a founding member of a few internet start-ups of the late '90's, acting in the role of CTO.

Before getting into technology, Loren was a record producer, recording and mastering engineer working in the independent music industry. He produced several independent albums and the soundtrack for a short film for Bravo television.

Loren's focus is the use of technology to provide competitive advantage, and to deliver value to business. In his spare time, he works on a new website to enable independent musicians to market themselves, an open source application server and slow-cook barbecue.
