Alexander Interactive Unveils myJambi: A Social Marketplace for Buying and Selling Services

February 29, 2008

Alexander Interactive, a leading ecommerce strategy, design and development agency, today announced the launch of myJambi, the only social marketplace for buying and selling services online.

Users build a trusted network of friends and colleagues on myJambi, a unique online community that personally connects people who offer services with people who want those services-from dogwalkers to wedding planners, from SAT tutors to interior decorators and beyond.

"Buying and selling services is inherently a social experience," says Rio Bennin, CEO and co-founder of myJambi. "So we have put a new spin on traditional social networking by putting a known, trusted face on the people offering and requesting services online. myJambi is highly functional yet highly personal. It's social networking that pays."

The Ai Touch

Ai executed the back-end development for myJambi. The site is launching with a robust feature set, integrating many social networking best practices alongside innovative new ways to connect. Among them:

  • Service providers can post their services, including profiles and photos
  • Service buyers can request services by messaging service providers on the site
  • Users can send messages and broadcasts about services to friends in their network
  • Users can suggest services and endorse individual service providers

"We came to Ai with our business plan, and the team brought it to life online in no time," says Bennin. Co-founder and myJambi CMO David Huebner adds, "Ai brought tremendous value to the entire process, advising us on the most effective online strategies to help ensure our success as a new social marketplace. We are rolling out myJambi in several phases-and Ai will be our partner every step of the way."

Ai expects to launch myJambi Beta, in Spring 2008, packed with features enabling users to bid on services, schedule appointments, establish contracts and track their engagements right on the site.

"As social networking continues to emerge as a primary method of building connections and careers, Ai continues to build its capabilities in this critical arena," says Alex Schmelkin, co-founder and president of Alexander Interactive. "As we prepared to launch the first iteration of myJambi, we already were deep in development of the second, e-commerce phase of the site. We always stay two steps ahead so myJambi can keep the site fresh and dynamic-and so we can set our client up for success."

myJambi is a rapidly growing social marketplace for buying and selling services. Founded in 2007 by Harvard graduates Rio Bennin, David Huebner and Kristina Vetter, myJambi is supported by a community of service providers and service buyers who build and tap their own trusted networks of contacts, rather than using anonymous postings, to connect with each other.
