Home Run for SteinerSports.com!
Ecommerce Site Scores Big in the 2006 MCM Awards Competition
JUNE 1, 2006
Alexander Interactive (Ai), the premier ecommerce strategy, design, and development agency that is responsible for the creation and on-going maintenance of SteinerSports.com, today announced that Steiner took home the Gold in this year’s Annual Multichannel Merchant (MCM) Awards Competition. By receiving this First Place Award, SteinerSports.com acquires the title of “Best Small Web Merchant Ecommerce Website of 2006” in the Web Channel category.
“In such a competitive industry as Web retail where new businesses are constantly entering and growing, this kind of recognition by the MCM Awards is a win both Steiner Sports and Alexander Interactive can really be proud of,” said Kevin Lee, Director of Ecommerce for Steiner Sports.
Launched in August of 2005, SteinerSports.com exceeds all other sports memorabilia sites with a customer experience that is both personalized and easy to navigate. As the leading producer of authentic hand-signed collectibles, this distinguished honor validates that SteinerSports.com is incontestably the most extensive shopping destination for autographed sports memorabilia on the Web.
“The Multichannel Merchant Awards are the height of achievement for catalog and Web merchants,” said Sherry Chiger, MCM Editorial Director. “The Awards are not a beauty or circulation contest; they’re not about who’s the biggest or most unusual. It’s about meeting—and exceeding—merchandising, marketing, service, production, and creative standards.”
Entrants in each MCM Awards category were evaluated on criteria covering all aspects of their business. Web Channels, in particular, were assessed on creative, merchandising, copy, navigation, and marketing execution.
“Judges were impressed with the site’s category-specific merchandising, strong customer experience, and excellent navigation, which ultimately scored SteinerSports.com a home run with a Gold Award in the Small Web Merchant Category,” said Chiger.
This year’s winners were announced at a special ceremony on May 10 at the Annual Conference for Catalog and Multichannel Merchants (ACCM) in Chicago. Full coverage of SteinerSports.com, along with the other MCM Award winners, will be featured in MULTICHANNEL MERCHANT’S Annual Awards issue in September. Steiner Sports is pleased to have Alexander Interactive continue maintenance of Steiner’s cutting-edge home on the Web.
“Receiving such prestigious recognition in the e-tail industry is not an easy task,” said Jared Weiss, President of Steiner Sports. “We are honored to win this recognition and appreciative of everyone at Alexander Interactive who worked so hard to help us earn this.”
