Ai joins the open-source community

Harvest API benefits from two Ruby projects

Alexander Interactive Tech is joining the open source community. We are pleased to have released our first two projects from Ai Labs, with more to follow this year.

Harvest is a Ruby library wrapping most of the Harvest API. Use it for easy programmatic access to any Harvest account. Contributions to this rubygem are encouraged; see our blog post for more information.

ActiveResource-Throttle is plugin for ActiveResource that facilitates request-rate limiting. This gem is best for writing well-behaved libraries and abiding by imposed rate limits.

This is the first completed item from Ai Labs, an in-house project incubator for open-source and internal projects. "Everyone pitched in their 'slack' time," says director of technology Martin Anderson, "and soon enough we were nearing completion on a number of fantastic projects."

"As Ai Labs grew, so did our desire to both prove the quality of our work to our fellow developers and give back to the community that has supported us over the years," says Anderson. Ai developer Kyle Banker took leadership of the initiative, setting up and pushing two new ruby projects, which were published as the items above.

Ai is excited to grow its library of projects and establish Ai Tech as a leader in both the Ruby and JavaScript community. Developers are invited to follow us on github, the open-source development site.
