Alexander Interactive Redesigns Course Enrollment System for Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions
Redesign improves user experience on global ecommerce website
We are pleased to note the launch of a new checkout funnel for global test prep leader Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions on its busy ecommerce and community website, kaptest.com.
The new Ai-designed conversion path is a significant enhancement that presents complex products in an easy-to-follow manner. Prospective students can search for test prep by course type, distance or date, with access to complex information on every page. With the use of ajax and scripting, Ai attempted to minimize page refreshes and simplify the process for customers.
Kaptest.com has the checkout system working across 19 different business verticals. Designed and scripted by Ai, the checkout funnel was implemented by the Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions IT department. In 2008, Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions reported $587 million in revenue, with a sizeable portion of sales coming through its website.
"The Kaptest checkout funnel was a great challenge for us," said Josh Levine, chief creative and experience officer and principal of Ai. "We had to create a system that worked for dozens of product types and satisfied the needs of diverse requirements inside and outside the Kaplan organization." The system includes options for upgrades to premium services, one of the more difficult areas of ecommerce functionality.
With the checkout process complete, Ai went on to collaborate with Kaplan on the redesign of its Law and Business communities, released in April 2009.
