Ai launches media center for Virgin Mobile

New MyPix site includes one-click publishing and drag-and-drop functionality

Cellular phone provider Virgin Mobile has launched a cutting-edge media center designed by Alexander Interactive.

The new Virgin Mobile MyPix is an innovative platform that provides easy, instant access to Virgin Mobile customers. Linked into their mobile phone accounts, the MyPix site provides an intuitive hub for file management. The site aims to provide Virgin Mobile's customers with a best-in-class service for messaging and data use.

Users can set their phones to automatically upload photos and videos to the MyPix site, making the center a fast clearinghouse for their media. When logged into MyPix, photos can be gathered into albums, annotated, and edited.

Most importantly, media can be sent with one-click functionality to nearly two dozen social media websites, including MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and Flickr. Users' settings are saved for fast access.

The Virgin Mobile MyPix site uses an innovative drag-and-drop interface unique to media warehousing. "We wanted to simulate the experience of a desktop interface for photo and video management," said Josh Levine, chief creative and experience officer of Alexander Interactive. "MyPix is a great example of what can be done with modern browser technology."

The MyPix site is currently available to post-paid Virgin Mobile customers as well as monthly subscribers from Virgin Mobile and Helio.
