Ai Launches New PexSupply Site

Project has increased stability, boosted sales and won awards

Alexander Interactive, a leading strategy, design, and development firm, has launched a new website for PexSupply.com, the leading online supplier of plumbing and heating supplies.

PexSupply LogoThe redesign was a full Ai engagement, including research, strategy, information architecture, design, front-end coding and platform development. The finished site modernizes the PexSupply.com site, bringing a friendly, useful interface to PexSupply’s thorough product catalog.

PexSupply.com users now encounter a website with thoroughly modern features and functionality, including comparison engines, tabbed interfaces and Ai’s trademark mega-drop-downs. The design leverages the site’s previous color scheme to welcome back long-time customers.

In the months since launch, the new PexSupply.com has created a significant performance and business boost. Conversion rate was up a robust 33% in the fourth quarter of 2009.

The new site is also earning industry accolades, and has won a Best in Class retailing award from the Interactive Media Awards. The IMAs gauge the Internet’s best sites in concept and execution.

PexSupply.com’s new site is built on the OpenTaps platform. OpenTaps is a custom extension of OFBiz, the Apache open-source ecommerce platform. Ai further customized OpenTaps to handle PexSupply.com’s particular needs, including a brand new inventory management system.
